Yorkshire Theraponies are a small Family run business based in the beautiful village of Cawthorne, Barnsley.  We offer unique therapy sessions, bringing the gentle magic of Miniature Shetland ponies to Elderly Care Homes, Schools, Community Events, Parties and more. Discover how our ponies create smiles, encourage interaction, and provide comforting companionship.

We work strictly via appointments, to enable one to one or small group sessions in a controlled and safe environment.

Our visits aim to provide therapeutic experiences, including special needs or those living with Dementia or limited mobility.  The gentle presence of our ponies helps reduce stress, provide emotional support and evoke memories.

Children and Adults with Autism and other neurodiverse conditions can build trust, confidence, emotional resilience and develop social skills.

Experiencing someone express such joy when one of our beautiful ponies nuzzles their hand makes our work so meaningful and rewarding.
